KGA offers a variety of team building options for groups and organizations. These programs may be suitable for corporate retreats or meetings. The purpose of this program is to increase a team's capacity to work together collaboratively and productively. The outcome will be increased trust, improved communication, and heightened commitment to the team's values and goals.

The workshop will be designed to integrate team members - those who may be new to the team and those who may have been part of the team for some time. The backbone of the workshop will be a series of three to four experiential team initiatives. Compelling research shows adults learn best from hands-on experience or "action learning."

This kind of experiential learning is particularly effective when a conscious effort is made to link what unfolds in the team initiatives to what typically happens in the workplace. This transfer of insights and newfound skills will be facilitated by group discussions that follow each initiative, as well as in the action planning session at the end of the workshop.

The team will participate in a series of initiatives in the workshop that will offer carefully structured experiences that are chosen because of their applicability to the needs and objectives of the group. Each initiative will offer a time-compressed opportunity for the participants to experience taking on a specific challenge, planning to meet it, executing their plan, and then debriefing the outcome of their efforts.

The design of the workshop will include agreeing up front to values/norms for the day and beyond, engaging in selected team initiatives, monitoring progress in honoring the agreed-upon values/norms, and concluding with the development of a group action plan.

The action plan created at the end of the workshop will identify what specific changes the team is committed to making when they return to the workplace. We will look at what the team can do to make these desired changes "stick."
