The EAP offers a variety of services that might be helpful to you during your pregnancy and leave of absence from work. All of the services are paid for by your company and are free and confidential.

The EAP may…

Provide you a counselor to touch base with throughout your pregnancy. Just knowing that the EAP counselor is available may help you through this new and challenging time.

Help with research, consultation and referral to pregnancy resources, support services, and other medical and non-medical resources.

Send you a free pregnancy kit including pamphlets, books, and other pregnancy-related information.

Discuss childcare options including family day care, day care centers, in-home care, and babysitters. The EAP can make the many calls needed to find the right child care situation for your family.

Connect you with early pregnancy programs, 24/7 nurse lines, and other "well-baby" services.

Provide referrals to pregnancy workshops and informative web sites about pre-natal care, high-risk pregnancy, infections, and labor and delivery.

Research pediatricians, playgroups, and baby equipment.

Provide information on nursing, weaning, and pregnancy-related conditions.

Evaluate postpartum depression and refer to appropriate clinicians who specialize in new mothers.

Assist with career planning and referrals to coaches for pregnancy-related career issues.

Provide assistance if complications occur during your pregnancy including referrals to counselors, support groups, and fertility specialists.
