Communicating to Employees About Consumer-Driven Health Plans Demo

Consumer-driven health plans, such as High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA), are rapidly growing as a possible solution to rising health plan costs. Simply being in a CDHP can help shift attitudes about consuming health care. However, employees and families may harbor many fears about these plans. To overcome their doubts and encourage CDHP selection, it is important to employ tools such as a specialized communications program and open enrollment. Come join us for a facilitated discussion about navigating these important - but tricky - communication and enrollment challenges.

The discussion will begin with a brief outline of the communication challenges, including building a strategy, getting support from senior leadership, determining fears, and overcoming misunderstanding. Dick Emerson and Steve Romano of KGA's Marketing Communications Team will present our first case study, explaining how KGA assisted one local corporation in boosting their enrollment through a customized testimonial campaign. A second case study will be presented by the Benefits team at Analog Devices, an organization that has been successful in migrating more than half of its workforce to a high deductible plan.

The case studies will be followed by a lively discussion with attendees. The audience is encouraged to bring examples of what's worked and what hasn't, with regard to:

• Doing the analysis
• Leading from the top
• Designing it right
• Communicating all year long
