CONFLICT RESOLUTION FOR MANAGERS
Ways to put and keep relationships on track
Course Description

This one-day workshop is designed for people at any level within the organization, and provides participants with skills and techniques for managing interpersonal conflict. Through the use of role-playing, group exercises, case studies and a self-assessment instrument, class members will not only develop an awareness and understanding of conflict management concepts, but be able to "try them out" in class in order to build confidence and skills. Particular attention is paid to situational conflict management, and applying five conflict strategies to various situations.

Course Objectives

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Apply a model for putting and keeping relationships on track
  • Understand the basic principles of conflict and how it escalates
  • Gain insight into how perceptions and inferences contribute to conflict situations
  • Know how to appropriately confront others by being assertive rather than aggressive
  • Learn how and when to apply five strategies for managing conflict
  • Increase self-confidence to manage conflict situations.
